Mission
Advancing philanthropic professionals by fostering development, sharing perspectives and providing educational and networking opportunities.
Vision
To shape the leaders of a more collaborative, intergenerational philanthropic community, working to ensure a vibrant future for Arizona.
The Professional Development Group was formed after two employees from the Piper Charitable Trust approached AGF about the creation of group that could benefit those who recently joined the philanthropic field.
Since then, the group has evolved to include any and all AGF members interested in professional development. This affinity group is primarily geared toward AGF members under the age of 40 and/or with 10 or fewer years of experience in the field of philanthropy. We also encourage the participation of young persons of financial wealth with an interest in philanthropy along with those in the line of succession of family foundations. The criteria, however, is flexible as to not discourage the involvement of members who feel they could benefit from the networking and professional development opportunities provided to this group.
The Professional Development Group is an Arizona Grantmakers Forum affinity group open to any AGF Member who may benefit from knowledge exchange and new peer connections offered by our programs.
Who should attend:
Those who aspire to be leaders of a more collaborative, intergenerational philanthropic community, working to ensure a vibrant future for Arizona.
The Professional Development Group programs are open to AGF members at no charge.
