Evaluating for Impact Affinity Group
Do you ever wonder if your grants are making a difference or how your colleagues go about trying to asses the impact of their efforts? If so, you may be interested in participating in a new AGF affinity group focused on measuring what works. Group leaders include representatives from First Things First, Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust and Valley of the Sun United Way.
The inaugural meeting of the Evaluation/Impact affinity group was held on April 4, 2012. During the meeting, we explained the rationale for convening such a group, discussed the variety of tools used to assess philanthropic impact and identified which ones are most popular with your colleagues. We also solicited participant input on the frequency, focus and structure of future sessions.
Whether you are passionate about sophisticated evaluation tools or find the whole topic a bit daunting, we hope you will join us. Engagement in this type of peer learning process has the potential to benefit the entire philanthropic sector.
