How America Gives to Charity

Americans continue to open up their wallets to those less fortunate and to causes they want to advance.

Charitable giving from individuals, corporations, foundations and bequests totaled $335.17 billion in 2013, the latest data available, up 4.4% from 2012, according to the Giving USA Foundation and Indiana University’s Lilly Family School of Philanthropy. Total giving for the year was up 22% since the official end of the recession in 2009.
