Postsecondary Success: Addressing the College Readiness Gap

20140117

Join us for this engaging session with an expert panel discussing post-secondary success. In Arizona, a large percentage of high school graduates and adult learners are in need of developmental education in English, Mathematics or both when entering college or university. Although the Arizona College and Career Readiness Standards are intended to address this on a going-forward basis, post-secondary institutions will continue to address the developmental education needs of many of their students.

Our panelists will give background and context on this issue in Arizona, as well as highlight the bright spots and best practices in developmental education.

Panelists

  • Ruth Veloria, Senior Vice President of Student Experience, University of Phoenix
  • Maria Harper-Marinick, Ph.D., Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost, Maricopa Community Colleges
  • Braulio Colón, Vice President and Program Director for Postsecondary Success Initiatives, Helios Education Foundation
