What happens when data visualization explodes? Dr. Stephanie Evergreen will address the proliferation of data visualization and what it means for communication. She will set forth a direction for how researchers, evaluators, nonprofits and grantmakers should approach the construction of their graphs and charts, based on two values: fair representation of the data relationship and elevation of the data’s message. Attendees will leave with a sharper view of their charge as communicators and with practical, immediately implementable ideas to massively improve their data visualizations.
Stephanie Evergreen is a sought-after speaker, designer and evaluator who brings a research-based approach to helping clients shine through their work. She holds a PhD in interdisciplinary evaluation, which included a dissertation on the extent of graphic design use in written evaluation reporting. She is active in the American Evaluation Association and author of, “Presenting Data Effectively: Communicating Your Findings for Maximum Impact,” Sage (Oct. 2013).
