We know that AGF Affinity Groups are the centerpiece of many members’ AGF experience. Because of this, we are making it a priority not only to align Affinity Group activities with our new strategic goals, but to maximize the value members receive from participating and the impact it has on the work you’re doing. In Spring 2016, we introduced a “refreshed” framework for Affinity Groups that focuses on opportunities to explore collaboration and joint action on issues; share information; learn from experts; discuss promising ideas and practices and react to a critical situation such as an opportunity or crisis. Affinity Group activities will expand to include learning groups, round tables, “field trips,” information sharing sessions, workshops, webinars, online discussions, educational programming and more. Led by a steering committee, each Affinity Group will establish an annual set of goals and key metrics that they will assess at the end of the year.
All AGF members are welcome to participate in Affinity Group steering committees. If you would like more information, please contact Kim Garbacz, director of education and communications.
